In 2020, the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) marked its 45th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, the organization featured different community members in their BuildingEnergy Magazine. Included in that group was HIGHMARK CEO and Co-Founder, Richard Gerbe.

In his article, Gerbe explained, “Challenging the engineering and HVAC status quos seven years ago was like running into a gigantic, resource-laden piece of concrete. Few people cared about sustainability – most just wanted to make a quick buck. Going against the industry grain felt very alone – up until I found NESEA. After attending BuildingEnergy, I knew I had found a kindred spirit in the fight to bring efficiency to the built environment.”
