HIGHMARK Building Efficiency’s monthly “Efficiency on Tap” event series continued last week with another enlightening presentation. This time, the invited attendees were treated to a heat pump technology showcase from Addison HVAC, a designer and manufacturer of semi-custom commercial HVAC solutions, presented by Peter Fung, Addison’s Director of Sales. HIGHMARK serves as the official Addison representative in New York and New Jersey.
“We’ve been working closely with the Addison team for quite some time; it only made sense to have them come in for a rousing ‘Efficiency on Tap’ showcase,” said Joseph Schmitz, Chief Sales Officer at HIGHMARK. “These events are a great way to get people to really understand these complicated technologies on a more practical level. There are massive energy and cost savings left on the table when offerings like Addison’s are overlooked; it really helps to have an opportunity to thoroughly outline their key innovations and benefits.”
For those who missed it, here’s a quick recap of what was discussed:
Addison’s specialized heat pump offerings are best attuned to the needs of commercial buildings in need of high-performance, cost-effective climate control technology. These quiet, compact heat pumps come in many varieties, each one tailored to specific building types and energy needs. Some of the key offerings detailed by Peter Fung include:
Fung also provided an overview of Addison’s FrostShield technology, an advanced air-source heat pump system that eliminates the need for energy-intensive defrost cycles, which allows for:
“There’s a reason Addison’s heat pump solutions are currently being utilized by major, national brands like Target, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, to name only a few: their technology is undeniably effective and reliably lowers long-term energy costs,” said Drew Maggio, Technical Director at HIGHMARK. “There are plenty of heat pumps on the market, but you may not realize that some are more tailored to your building’s specific climate control needs than others.
Increased electrical demand is a hurdle that all electrification projects face. Addison’s FrostShield technology reduces the up-front cost of electrifying a building’s HVAC systems, and in some cases can eliminate the need for upgrading a building’s electrical service. Addison is meeting our market’s needs, without compromising on quality or affordability.
