BuildingEnergy Boston 2020 Sets Session Lineup

BuildingEnergy is one of the leading industry events for realizing sustainable and energy-efficient buildings. It’s organized annually by the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) and happens in both New York City and Boston.

The theme of BuildingEnergy Boston 2020, happening March 23 and 24, is “Transforming Existing Buildings,” with an emphasis on decarbonization of buildings of every type. All of the 49 accredited sessions can be viewed by clicking here.

Participating in one of the sessions is Richard Gerbe, CEO and Co-Founder of HIGHMARK. He’ll be looking at the benefits of using electric heat pumps to produce domestic hot water (DHW) in multifamily buildings. The session, “The Last Frontier: Solutions for Fossil-Fuel-Free Domestic Hot Water,” will take place on March 24 at 8:30 am.

Specific learning objectives of this session include:

  • Explain how changing building loads must result in the design/build community taking a closer look at the selection of the DHW system
  • Calculate in general the upfront, operational and environmental cost of traditional DHW systems versus market-ready clean alternatives
  • Identify opportunities with incorporating fossil-fuel-free DHW solutions into buildings of every size
